Following the issuance of the Council of Ministers' Decision No. (216) concerning the reorganization of the remuneration of students in higher education sectors, the establishment of the Higher Education Fund was approved in order to reorganize the awards.
The Ministry of Higher Education has realized the need to study the situation in the area of remuneration regulation in order to enhance its benefits, taking into account the following considerations:
- The reward is necessary for many segments of society.
- The existence of the reward is an incentive for students of general education to join a higher education institution.
- Reduce the impact on students to perseverance and perseverance to raise the level of scientific achievement.
- Urge students to strive to raise the level of their academic achievement and finish the university studies in the period specified for them, which contributes significantly to reduce any waste found in educational institutions, which in turn increases the internal efficiency of these institutions.
- The criteria for organizing the remuneration should be objective and easy to apply in all institutions of higher education.
Accordingly, the Higher Education Council issued a decree for the implementation of the decision. Accordingly, the Higher Education Council issued Decision No. 2/12 / 1419H dated 29/2/1419 AH stating that the remuneration should not be paid in the following cases:
If the student exceeds the limit The minimum duration of the study program
- If the student apologizes for the study or asks to postpone it in accordance with the provisions of Articles (13 and 14) of the list of studies and tests for the university stage.
- If the student receives an academic warning in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (a) of Article (20) of the above-mentioned regulation, and shall be returned to him if the warning is raise
