Rempt van der Donk started the firm in 1996, after he had worked at De Jong and Olphen, De Architectengroep, Bakker Boots van Haaren van der Donk and Inbo. He graduated cum laude at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam. Since 1996 we, as an independent company, have been working together with architectural firm BroekBakema, in which our office is also physically located.
The small office with enthusiastic staff works enthusiastically on often large and complex architectural and urban planning tasks. The more complicated the task is, the greater our challenge will be. The client and the user are always central to the combination of architecture and its urban or landscape context. We often look for a design with simple concepts that match and fit into the immediate environment of the assignment, without losing sight of their own identity .
The assignment of our office extends from large-scale urban design tasks to refined interior assignments. It is also our ambition to design and guide designs within the budgets set by the client and reviewed by us. The concepts with their own identity always reflect the wishes of the client or of the users.
Crucial for achieving a good result is the choice of material and color and our traditional method of architectural detailing. Our projects always breathe the love for these topics. The choices in material versus design are always made on the basis of ecological grounds. We also do not shy away from the use of innovative materials. The topics that appear under the chapter 'images and references' form the most important starting points for arriving at our designs .
