The firm of Vance Brown, Inc. continues a general contracting business established in 1932 by Vance Meacham Brown. Now, in its seventy-eighth year of operation, the firm is one of the oldest general contracting firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. The firm is still owned and managed by the Brown family with Loren Brown, a third generation descendent of Vance Brown, as President.
Vance Brown has extensive experience in a wide variety of construction improvements for a multitude of Owners, Architects, and Tenants in many different municipalities. With this experience has come a tremendous knowledge of the construction industry with it's unique set of circumstances that require our construction managers to be flexible in the role that we play on any given project. The firm has constructed many office/R&D projects, athletic and housing projects at Stanford University, private school buildings, biotech laboratories, clean rooms, senior housing projects, restaurants and warehouses. Notable projects constructed by Vance Brown include the Stanford Tennis Stadium, Quantum Corporate Headquarters, The Hamilton, Evvia Restaurant, Tully's Coffee, ALZA Corporate Headquarters, Westport Office Park, and the Arillaga Family Sports Center, Alumni Center, the Boathouse at Stanford University.
