Established in Switzerland in 1910, Sika is a specialty chemicals company with a leading position in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protecting in the building sector and the motor vehicle industry. Sika has subsidiaries in 94 countries around the world and manufactures in over 170 factories.
Sika has had a presence in the GCC since the 1960’s and since then the company has increased its market share in the region year on year with its well-known and respected brand, consistency in innovation and premium quality.
Sika has made significant capital investments in the Gulf, acquiring the majority shareholding in Sika Gulf B.S.C in Bahrain which manufactures concrete admixtures and ready-to-use mortar to supply countries in the region.
In 2011 Sika Saudi Arabia established a state-of-the-art factory located near Jeddah, with an annual production capacity of 40 million litres of liquid admixtures and over 60,000 tonnes of cementitious dry mortar products. Sika UAE also produces concrete admixtures to support the region’s growing construction business.
Sika GCC continues to expand; in 2014 Sika International Chemicals was established to serve customers and projects in the Oil & Gas market, and in 2015 Sika UAE opened a new Powder manufacturing facility to cater for growing demands in the region.
