The Sandbank Offshore Wind GmbH, which was founded by Vattenfall Europe Windkraft GmbH, was registered on 15 May 2012 in the Handelsregister by the Amtsgericht Hamburg for the purpose of the construction and operation of the wind park. With the foundation of the company the official change of name from "Sandbank 24" to "Sandbank" took place.
