LIFCO originated from the vision of Mr. Mohamed Salim Hassan in Venezuela in early 1950's, by setting up an organization to import and trade traditional Lebanese preserves, dried fruits and jams, olive oil and other essential commodities etc by targeting the local Arab and Lebanese community that got established its roots in that country then. Gradually, the local community embraced the Arab flavors that boosted the business of the group which motivated the management to locate the business in Monrovia, Liberia in Southwest Africa, which was an upcoming and potentially growing market in the region.
The determination and passion of the management enabled them to achieve astounding success by keeping pace with the region's growth and the organization got established as a leading distributor of consumer goods, news papers, magazines and even plants and flowers. The supply chain management system of the company got established in such a way that the company planned its corporate procurement by chartering 3 to 4 flights a week from Lebanon.
