The Minister of Transport, Dr Hisham Arafat, announced the launch of the Egyptian Company for Land and Dry Ports and the distinguished logistics areas as an Egyptian joint stock company established in accordance with the provisions of law 159 of 1981 as he presided over the first General Assembly meeting on 20/6/2017.
1) Establish, manage and operate ports and logistics areas.
2) Establishment of infrastructure as well as administrative buildings and factories.
3) Construction of container terminals and silos.
4) Establishment of stores and refrigerators of all kinds and marketing.
5) Establishment and management of natural gas receiving stations or preparing them for distribution or extending gas networks with production sites to sites of use by specialized tankers or pipes (not including petroleum).
6) Design, construction, management, operation and maintenance of power stations and distribution networks of different sources (fuel - solar - wind - vital).
7) Collection of garbage and waste production and service activities and the establishment and operation of a plant for processing and recycling.
8) Establishing, managing, exploiting and maintaining the free, fast and main roads.
9) Development and construction of roads leading to dry ports and logistics areas.
10) Lease and grant of usufruct rights to dry land and logistics areas after approval by the General Authority of Land and Dry Ports.
11) Marketing and promotion of port and land activities for ports and logistics areas after approval by the General Authority of Land and Dry Ports.
12) Loading and unloading operations within dry ports and logistics areas.
13) Supply all equipment and devices necessary for the operation of ports and logistics areas.
14) Operation and maintenance of all port components and everything necessary to maintain a good and stable port condition.
15) Collective transport within, to and from ports, logistics areas and any other areas within the limits set by the state agencies for the purpose of organizing such transport.
16) Transport all types of goods to ensure their preservation during transport to and from ports, taking into account all laws and regulations in force and decisions and the company to obtain all necessary licenses to operate.
17) Establishment, operation and maintenance of advanced electronic networks and modern control systems for ports and logistics centers.
18) The establishment, operation, management and maintenance of sewerage or industrial networks and stations, their networks, connections and treatment plants.
