CLP was founded in Hong Kong in 1901. The CLP Group has grown from a Hong Kong-based power utility into a leading investor and operator in the Asia Pacific Region’s electricity market, with a portfolio of over 30 generation assets and retails operations in the Mainland China, Australia, India, Thailand, and Taiwan. CLP’s entry into the China market dates back to 1979 when the Group started providing electricity to Guangdong to meet the developing needs of the local economy. In 1985, we were involved in the investment in and operation of Guangdong Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, China’s first commercial nuclear power station.
