The General Authority for Industry was established on January 15, 1997, a public body with an independent legal personality supervised by the Minister of Commerce and Industry.
The aim of the Authority is to develop, commercialize and control industrial activities in the State of Kuwait by encouraging local industries and expanding the production base of these industries to include strategic products serving national security, thus increasing the sources of national income.
It is also one of the main concerns of the Authority to deepen the industrial sense of citizens and to find industrial studies and coordination between the existing and future industries of the Gulf States and Arab countries in order to support industrial cooperation between different countries and international organization
