Lotte Advanced Materials ,formerly known as Samsung Chemical Inc., is a subsidiary of Lotte chemicals for its chemical business used in advanced materials.
In early May 2016, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. transferred 90% ownership of its subsidiary, SDI Chemical Co., Ltd. (Chemical division of Samsung SDI) to Lotte Chemical Co., Ltd. Lotte Group established an independent corporation, LAM.
Samsung Chemical, Inc. was a subsidiary of Samsung Group established in 2001 with the full support of Cheil Industries, Inc. in Korea. Samsung Chemical. operated as an independent corporation engaged principally in sales and distribution of plastic chemical resins and solid surface materials, which were manufactured by Cheil Industries, Inc. Lotte took everything as is.

Staron solid surface is a versatile, acrylic decorative surfacing material that has multiple commercial uses and is a popular countertop material in home construction and remodeling.
