ELGAARD Architecture is a team of architects, constructing architects, added value designers, culture historians and researchers based in Copenhagen. The studio is involved in a list of assignments spread across Denmark as well as several international projects, among others in Georgia and Abu Dhabi.
The buildings and areas we work with are often listed or worthy of preservation and they tell stories going back hundreds of years. Our architecture originates from humbleness and a will to understand on whose shoulders’ we stand, combined with an intense interest in and determination to meet the client’s visions as well as his financial priorities.
Architecture is a slow art influencing us as a society and as individuals for decades and centuries. Whether we restore, transform or design new architecture in historical sensitive surroundings, it is crucial that our interventions have a quality and value reaching far into the future supporting and strengthening the buildings’ and places’ story development.
