Since its founding in 1985, the firm has won over eighty prestigious lighting design awards for its projects, and gained an even greater number of delighted clients. Francesca Bettridge and Stephen Bernstein, the firm's Principals and founders, are recognized industry-wide for bringing innovative, technologically leading-edge, sustainable and cost-effective design solutions to their project work.
CBBLD works with leading architects on projects nation-wide and globally. The firm's portfolio encompass corporate offices, skyscrapers, civic and government facilities, performing arts centers, schools and universities, hotels and restaurants, and private residences.
The company is dedicated to sustainable lighting design, and as such, pioneered the use of LEDs in architectural lighting design, a new field for the implementation of these fixtures. Four of CBBLD's senior staff are LEED Accredited Professionals, and the firm has, to date, achieved over 40 LEED-certified projects.
