Al Yamama Company is a for-profit organization specializing in the supply and service of medical products to countries in the Middle East. The company branched out from its sister companies, Science and Development-Jordan, and Science and Development-Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 1999. The main goal was to concentrate on specialized areas in the medical field, and fill the gap in modern biomedical technologies between industrialized countries and countries of the Middle East, by
focusing on technology transfer and state-of-the-art service and technical support. Our first focus was on the fields of spine and orthopaedics, specialties where sophisticated procedures were most evidently deficient in the Middle East region. In two years time, the company successfully acquired the biggest share in
the Jordanian market in spinal surgery sales, and aligned itself with Acromed and DePuy Spine Johnson & Johnson Companies, world leaders in spine care. Then, we expanded our business by diversifying our supply to include products as trauma and orthopaedic instrumentations, power tools, operating tables, anaesthesia machines, hospital furniture and PVC. Additionally, we aimed at expanding geographic segments of the market to cover neighbouring Middle Eastern countries. Due to our success in these areas, we gained exclusive distribution agreements for several multinational companies for the regional market.Today, Al Yamama stands as one of the most successful import companies in the region, with consistent sales growth expected to exceed $1 Million in 2005.
