The project's scope of work involves the construction of a 265-kilometres 4-lane expressway stretching from the end of Muscat expressway near Halban intersection and to Khutmat Al-Milahah in Shinas, in Oman. The project is divided into 11 packages including a 3.75 meter wide 4 lanes in each side, a 12 meters wide traffic island, 3 meters external asphalt shoulders, 2 meters internal asphalt shoulders, 31 Wadi crossing bridges and 23 intersection. The project also includes 25 wadi crossing bridges and box culvert with various sizes, trucks weighing stations, locations for ambulance and royal Oman Police Cars parking.

The packages are:

  • Package 1 includes a 45.5 kilometers long expressway starts from the end of Muscat expressway Halban intersection in Barka to Khubat Al-Qadan. The package also includes 5 intersections, 5 flyovers, 2 Wadi crossing bridges, 1 underpass, 235 box culverts and 1 camels crossing
  • Package 2 includes 44.75 kilometers long expressway starts from Khubat Al-Qadan to Wadi Al-Hamili in Al-Suwaiq
  • Package 3 includes 46.2 kilometers long expressway starts from Wadi Al-Hamili in Al-Suwaiq to Hafeet in Saham
  • Package 4 includes 43.5 kilometers long expressway start from Hafeet in Saham to Sohar
  • Package 5 includes 41 kilometers long expressway start from Sohar to Liwa
  • Package 6 includes 45 kilometers long expressway start from Liwa to Khutmat Al-milahah in Shinas
  • Package 7 includes an extension of the 53 kilometers long Muscat Expressway
