Project Glass - TG 01

Tempered or Toughened Glass is a type of Glass which strenght has been increased by heating to the temperature nearly softening point and then cooling it rapidly.

Two different types of glass can be produced by this process:

• Heat Strengthened (HS):
  Is twice as strong as clear float glass, and in case of breakage, it will break into large shards. Because of this, the tendency for the glass to vacate the opening is reduced.

• Fully Tempered Glass(FT):
  It is four to five times stronger than Clear Float Glass, if broke, it will break into small pieces which are not harmful, which is the reason that this glass has been widely use in safety appliances.
