The project's scope of work consist of an airport located at Jabal Murshid Area, Al Qunfudah Province, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The new airport capacity is expected to exceed half a million passengers annually and will be on a Build to Order (BTO) system.
The project includes three halls, 3,000-meter runway to allow small and medium airplanes to operate, a road network, a five-aircraft hangar, an air control tower, and car park spaces.
The Qunfudah Airport is expected to handle 500,000 passengers per annum. The airport is built on an area of about 24 million square meters. It has a passenger lounge with an area of more than 20,340 square meters. The airport can handle five flights per hour.
The airport is expected to serve seven provinces and 50 administrative centers related to three coastal and rural areas are Makkah, Al-Baha and Asir region. The project is part of Saudi Arabia's plan to expand the aviation network and develop new airports.
