The Grupo Ortiz's origins date back to the year 1961, in which Ortiz y Cia SL was founded. At that time, it focused on the Comunidad de Madrid, Castilla La Mancha and Castilla León, and its main activity was the upkeep, maintenance and repair of road infrastructure.
n the eighties, the organization decided to enter other areas and services within the construction business. In 1987, CONDISA was created to undertake the rehabilitation and restoration of monuments and in 1988 INDITEC was born to carry out environmental work. By then, Ortiz and Co. S. L. was already Ortiz and Co. Inc. From the 90s onwards, the growth of the Company has been constant.
In the XXI century, the Grupo Ortiz is committed to a sector which is still booming: the railways. It has acquired 100% of companies like PROAKIS (2003), ICMA (2004) and COSFESA (2007); thanks to these three prestigious construction and railway preservation companies, the Ortiz Group is now a key player in this sector, both domestic and internationally.
In 2005, Grupo Ortiz began investing in Concessions, and today it manages a diversified portfolio of over 1,400 million Euro into two different project categories: Infrastructure (Roads, Rail, Car Parks, Environmental, Cultural, Sports and Service Stations) and Energy (CSP plants, wind power plants, photovoltaic plants electricity and energy efficiency). The vast majority of our projects are in their operational phase.
In recent years, we have become one of the most promising construction companies in the market, with a significant presence in emerging markets like energy (ORTIZ ENERGIA), in which we operate through ELECOR, JUAN GALINDO and TENDIDOS Y REDES DEL SUR.
Today, our daily activity is focused in five sectors: concessions, energy, construction, property and services.
