ENTEGA AG is one of Germany's largest ecological regional utilities and is majority-owned by HEAG Holding AG, owned by the Wissenschaftsstadt Darmstadt.
With its subsidiaries, the company is active in the fields of power generation, energy trading, energy distribution, energy networks, public-law operation and shared services. The company pursues a consistent sustainability strategy, for which it was awarded the prestigious German Sustainability Award in 2013. The distribution subsidiary ENTEGA Energie is one of the largest providers of climatic energy in Germany. ENTEGA not only sells green electricity but also invests in the conversion of the energy supply. In doing so, the company pursues the strategic goal of covering the needs of its green electricity private customers with self-generated electricity generated by the company in its own plants with its partners. The largest individual investment is the participation in the Windpark Global Tech I in the North Sea.
