CGN Solar Energy Development Co., Ltd (CGNSEDC) was established in August 2009 in Beijing. It is a wholly owned subsidiary and the specialised solar investment platform of China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC). CGNSEDC owns assets valued at RMB3.36bn, net assets valued at RMB1.57bn and has nearly 200 employees. CGNSEDC is primarily involved in solar power plant investment, construction, operation and maintenance, and integration of solar power technologies, including PV, CSP and micro-grid technology. By the end of 2012, installed capacity was 289MWp, including a commercial rooftop plant in New Jersey, USA. CGNSEDC aims to have 5000MWp of installed capacity by 2020.
In 2010, CGNSEDC was awarded ‘Triple Accreditation’ Certification. In 2011, CGNSEDC was awarded the High Technology Enterprise Certification and Level 3 Power Engineering General Contracting Certification, and in 2012 was also awarded the Engineering Consulting Body Certification.
